P&I correspondent services

What is a P&I Correspondent?

With ocean going vessels able to trade into any port in the world and on occasion requiring local assistance, P&I Insurers found it necessary during the 19th century to develop a network of representatives or "Correspondents" to assist their ship owner members when problems were encountered.

The Role of a P&I Correspondent

The role of Robmarine Shipping (Overseas) Ltd is to assist the officers and crew of a vessel when they have P&I related problems in a port in which we have an office.

We are able to act as a general P&I Correspondent throughout the entire United Kingdom and are able to provide Owners and insurance facilities with immediate assistance with a wide verity of claims.

Our main East African office, located in Dar-Es-Salaam (Tanzania), is proud to have acted as Correspondent to the majority of P&I insurers over the last 15 years and continues to provide the highest quality of service.

Our staff is fully conversant with local shipping regulations and practices in their area, providing clients with direct support and advice on a 24 hour basis. For further information please contact us.
